CONDITION: Fair overall condition. Painting has been re-lined. There are two repaired tears. The tear at the top is approx 1 ½ in., and on the mid-right there is a U shaped tear where 3 ¼ in. is the largest portion. There is craquelure. The varnish has been unevenly applied. Framed.

DESCRIPTION:  Original hand made hooking by Dorothy Strauser.  Her initials, “DFS,” are sewn in the lower right.  This folk art hooking was made with strips of fabric that were dyed and hooked into a burlap backing. This hooking represents many tedious hours of devoted work and amazing talent!   Dorothy Strauser, American  (1908 – 2005).
